Voltaren Pain Gel is for the temporary relief of temporary symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis in adults and children over 12 years of age. It is also used to treat painful menstrual periods, gynaecomastia, menstrual pain, and other conditions that may occur due to conditions such as luteal phase defect or excessive use of alcohol.
The active ingredient in this product is Diclofenac.
Do not use Voltaren Pain Gel if:
Diclofenac diethylammonium contains dibasic calcium, which is a corticosteroid used to reduce fever and prevent inflammation in the body. It is usually taken every 4-6 hours, with or without food, on a full stomach, depending on your doctor’s advice. You may experience muscle pain, a burning feeling, or tenderness or swelling, as well as nausea or vomiting, or allergic-type symptoms (such as hives, trouble breathing, or swelling of the face or throat) for a few days. Some people may experience joint pain or swelling, which may indicate that the joint is inflamed or broken down. You may also experience pain or tenderness when the joint becomes swollen or inflamed. Your doctor may ask to know how you are feeling and if you are likely to need a new steroid every 3 to 6 months. If you experience no changes in your menstrual periods or unusual vaginal bleeding, stop using Voltaren Pain Gel and see your doctor. You may also experience an allergic reaction.
